i also think that things not about elephants are irrelephant. that being said: enjoy.
I know there’re a lot of people suffering right now in the world: the Middle East, the Philippines, and North Korea. But maybe you can add one more name to the list to help. This is my Baby Bear. I’ve had him for almost 13 years and he is my world. I found him as a stray and I took him in as my own. He’s been through so many medical tragedies in his life but he’s always made it through them safe and happy; this time should be no different. Back in August he started to develop a cough, we though it would go away, but it progressively got worse. Through out September we took him to two different vets and each proscribed antibiotics which were not effective. In October he was struggling to breathe so much that we took him into the Emergency room at the Iowa State Veterinary Medicine hospital. They found a mass in his throat that was blocking his airway. He made it though surgery perfectly well and they determined that the mass was NOT cancerous. He was fine for a while. But at the end of October he was starting to struggle to breathe again. They gave him medication which wasn’t helpful. Last weekend he was struggling so we took him back. They determined that the mass has not grown back. But they can’t figure out what is causing his breathing issues. This morning he couldn’t breathe again so he’s back in the ICU for the third time.
He’s a strong cat. His blood work is normal. His heart is normal. He is perfectly healthy besides the fact that he can’t get enough oxygen.
I’m not willing to have him put down when this is something that could be treated. But, like everything in the world, medical bills cost money. I’ve spent $5,000 on him up to this point and I’m officially dipping into my college fund now. But I’m not willing to let him go.
Everybody who meets my Tiggy loves him. He is friendly and will love on anybody he meets like he’s known them his whole life.
Even sitting in the ICU all the doctor’s comment on how personable he is.
He’s still in good spirits, and he’s on oxygen in the ICU, but that’s no way we can keep this up.
They think he might have asthma, and they’re running more tests, but in the mean time everything costs money, and I’m running out.
I know it’s a lot to ask for a kitty that you’ve never met, but he’s my world, he’s saved my life in more ways than one and I need help to keep him alive and happy for the many many years that I know he has left in him.
